HexHeat FAQ

Will HexHeat’s radiant heat damage the flooring material?

No. Our technology has been designed with a double safety redundancy.

  1. HexHeat is engineered to limit heat values about 32 degrees Celcius. Given various flooring materials, we recognize that maximum temperatures are required to not prevent shrinkage or plasticizer migration damage.
  2. OJ Control thermostats and modules coupled with floor sensor probes limits the maximum internal temperature setting for laminate floors to 28 degrees Celcius.

What kind of underlayment is required?

We provide an 8mm high density underlay which will not rot or absorb water and is anti microbial. The thickness is required to allows the connectors to be inset properly.

How long does it take to install HexHeat?

With a typical laminate flooring installation in a 15ft x 12ft room, expect to add approximately only 1 hour to your flooring installation when including HexHeat.

Do I need to be an experienced tradesperson or electrician to install this product?

No. It is as simple as laying out the underlayment, rolling the film out and pressing each connector together before installing your finished floor. In fact, it takes longer to install the actual floor than installing HexHeat! You only require a licensed electrician to install the thermostat.

How much money can I save with HexHeat in-floor heating?

HexHeat in-floor radiant heating provides significant cost savings as compared to other forms of heating. Over 10 years, the overall cost of HexHeat is less than half  the cost compared to boiler or baseboard heating.
